Community safety grants available to support at-risk young people
Acting Attorney-General
The Hon Michelle Rowland MP
Applications are now open for the Albanese Government’s U25-GO community safety grants program.
The U25-GOgrants program provides $13.57 million to peak state and territory Police Citizens Youth Clubs, Blue Light Organisations and other eligible organisations.
The Australian Government is committed to supporting local communities to strengthen community safety and provide alternative pathways for young people who are at risk of being engaged in criminal and anti-social behaviour.
From today, eligible organisations can apply for grants between $500,000 and $2,000,000 for programs focusing on crime prevention and drug diversion for young people under the age of 25 who are at risk of engaging with the criminal justice system.
The program will support activities aimed at improving the engagement of at-risk young people in education, work ready programs, decreasing anti-social behaviour or engagement in criminal activity and increasing positive community and family engagement.
Grant guidelines and eligibility criteria are available.
