Respect@Work Council Forum highlights Government’s commitment to addressing sexual harassment
Today I attended the Respect@Work Council Forum to recognise the important work of the Council and outline the Government’s commitment to implement in full the recommendations of the Respect@Work report.
This Government is taking serious action to strengthen our laws and systems to prevent and address sexual harassment, and support those who have experienced sexual harassment.
We acknowledge the real and devastating impact sexual harassment has in our workplaces and are committed to implementing all recommendations of the Respect@Work report.
We are going to do this, and we are going to do it as a priority.
I look forward to working with the Australian Human Rights Commission, the Respect@Work Council, employers, workers, unions and legal experts to achieve these reforms and make our workplaces safer.
I want to thank Sex Discrimination Commissioner Kate Jenkins, members of the Respect@Work Council and all those working to implement the recommendations from Commissioner Jenkins' Respect@Work report.
