Expressions of Interest invited for Open Government Forum members

The Hon Michelle Rowland MP
Media Release

The Albanese Government is calling for expressions of interest from civil society members to join Australia's next Open Government Forum, which promotes transparent, participatory, inclusive and accountable governance.

The Forum is a core component of Australia’s participation in the Open Government Partnership.

Forum members will have an important role in leading engagement on open government reform. They will work in partnership with government members to develop, implement and monitor a fourth National Action Plan, building on the important work delivered under Australia's Third National Action Plan 2024 – 2025.

The new Forum is expected to be established in early 2026, with work on Australia’s Fourth National Action Plan commencing shortly thereafter. The work of the Forum will conclude after three years.

Read more about the Open Government Partnership, including how to apply for the Forum. Applications close 19 January 2026.
