Subjects: Introduction of legislation allowing access to offenders’ super for victims and survivors of child sexual abuse

The Albanese Government today will introduce the Treasury Laws Amendment (The Survivors Law) Bill 2026 which will prevent convicted child sexual abusers from hiding their assets in superannuation to avoid paying compensation to their victims.

The Albanese Government is pleased to announce the appointment of Justice Andrew Coleman as a new Member of the Defence Force Discipline Appeal Tribunal (the Tribunal).

Today, the Albanese Government, together with all state and territory governments, launches the National Plan to End the Abuse and Mistreatment of Older People 2026-2036. The National Plan represents our shared commitment to prevent, respond to and ultimately end the abuse of older people in Australia.
